Full-time Master’s students complete the program over 2 academic years. The first year is devoted to core curriculum. The first semester focuses entirely on common core courses, designed to give students a solid foundation in sociology, political science, law, economics, and management. In the second semester, students choose between 2 “options” depending on the stream they intend to follow in Year 2.
The University advises students who have completed Year 1 of the program to take an interim year before beginning Year 2, in order to gain real-world experience, refine their career projects, and strengthen their résumé. During their interim year, students can effectuate internships in France or abroad, or complete a personal, professional, social, or humanitarian project. All interim year projects must be approved and validated by the university.
Students who choose Public Affairs, Change Management: Advisory and Assistance, or Public Administration streams for their 2nd year specialization, can opt for an apprenticeship track.
All streams, with the exception of Public Service Careers and High-Level Civil Service Exams, are open to Executive Education students.

Martin AUDRAN, Research Assistant, Agence Phare
APRS Master’s in Government Policy and Public Opinion (PPO) – Class of 2016
"After completing the first year of my Master's in Government Action and Social Policy at Paris-Dauphine and an interim year doing civic service, I wanted a stream with a clear focus on public policy issues and solid applied training in the tools and methodologies specific to the Social Sciences. I found exactly what I was looking for in the PPO stream.
After graduation, I was hired with a permanent contract by Agence Phare, a consulting firm specialized in social innovation and public policy assessment. My Master’s training served me well when I started my job: I had the broad general knowledge of public policy issues and solid methodological foundations required to hit the ground running in my first field assignments."

APRS Master’s in Government Policy and Public Opinion (PPO) – Class of 2017
"After graduating from the Université de Nice Sophia Antipolis, I enrolled in the first year of Paris-Dauphine’s APRS Master’s program. The PPO stream was my obvious choice. For me, PPO’s major strength (other than a great classroom environment) is the perfect balance between qualitative and quantitative approaches. In a field that is considered primarily quantitative, I learned how important it is to be able to look at things from a double perspective, with their complementary concepts and methodologies."
Constance CHEYNEL, PhD candidate in Political Science, IRISSO research center
APRS Master’s in Government Policy and Public Opinion (PPO) – Class of 2015
"After completing a Master’s degree at EHESS, the school for advanced studies in the social sciences, the PPO stream gave me an opportunity to gain expertise in public policy formation and implementation, while continuing to orient my career choice towards research. Dauphine’s approach to PPO curriculum pushes us to develop reflexive thinking and research techniques, key to carrying out action research.
PPO also made it possible for me to explore new horizons in research, assessment, and expertise. Although I have not abandoned my interest in action research, with the support of my professors, I have decided to prepare a PhD at Paris-Dauphine."
Abigail VACHER, Analyst, Institut CSA
APRS Master’s in Government Policy and Public Opinion (PPO) – Class of 2015
"After graduating from Université Paris I with a double Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science, and completing Year 1 of my APRS Master’s at Dauphine, I decided to choose a stream that would let me study Sociology and Political Science in greater depth. The PPO stream combines theoretical and methodological training with in-depth exploration of sectoral policy, public policy assessment, and public opinion analysis. I particularly value the way the program mixes career-oriented and research-focused curriculum.
I did my internship in a team that carries out both quantitative and qualitative research. I was able to put my PPO course work, writing skills, and field experience to good use. At the end of my 6-month internship, I was hired as a Junior Analyst by Institut CSA, the French consumer science and analytics firm."

APRS Master’s in Corporate Policy and Social Regulations – Class of 2016
"The APRS Corporate Policy and Social Regulations stream focuses on economic, organizational, and workplace sociology. It gave me a critical understanding of how the economy and business world function – a useful skill when questioning business practices, both inside our organizations and in terms of our goals.
Why Paris-Dauphine? Because it’s an excellent university where students begin with common fundamentals and specialize progressively. There are lots of opportunities to explore a variety of sectors and industries. University life is intense with numerous student clubs and organizations (cultural, athletic, professional, and just fun) – it’s a place where students can build a solid network for the future."
Our dynamic alumni-driven networks are open to Paris-Dauphine students from day 1. They offer you the perfect ecosystem for building professional ties and relationships that will benefit you as students, as graduates, and throughout your careers, be it in business, civil service, or as entrepreneurs.
