3 Dauphine students win the 2017 Galeries Lafayette Challenge

How can we reimagine the customer journey in a world where physical shopping meets e-shopping? The Dauphine team came up with a response that won over the jury hands-down.

This year's Galeries Lafayette Challenge brought together 2,000 participants divided into 577 teams. At the end of a grueling selection process, five teams qualified as finalists. They pitched their projects on February 2nd to a prestigious jury: Frédérique Chemaly, DRH Director of Human Resources Department Store division; Matthieu Caloni, Director of Strategy and transformation; Alexandre Liot, Director BHV, and Caroline Delorme, Director Omnicanal.

When the jury came in, they awarded 1st prize to the Dauphine team, in a unanimous vote.
The jury found that the Dauphine project best met the Challenge's three main criteria: pertinence, originality and feasibility.

The Dauphine team of three Master's students, from three different specializations, had the brilliant idea of uniting their know-how and came up with a concept they call Try IT On.

Try It On, will be available via the Galeries Lafayette website, it will offer clients a selection of clothing online with the possibility of trying the cloths on at the time and store location of their choice. Clients will also be able to see the products in a dedicated space where they can, if they wish, be assisted by experienced sales staff and use tablets to finalize their purchases without having to wait in line at the checkout counter.

Congratulations to our three winners: Amélie Gabriagues, (M1 Strategic Management), Chloé Chabanne (M1 Marketing & Strategy) and Eva Hulin (M1 Innovation, Networks and Digital). They will enjoy a week-end trip to Berlin courtesy of Galeries Lafayette and be able to take advantage of privileged contacts with the Galeries Lafayette HR teams!

Try IT On could be rolled out by the end of 2017.
